| CONWELL SENTENCED TO 40 YEARS October 8, 2008 |

(Anderson, SC) Jerry Duane Conwell, 42, of Anderson, SC, was sentenced today after pleading guilty on Monday to 2 counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor 1st Degree, Lewd Act upon a Child, and Exposure of Private Parts in Anderson General Sessions Court. The Honorable J. C. “Buddy” Nicholson sentenced Conwell to 40 years in prison.
Over a period of 8 months during 2007, Conwell molested the daughter of a relative while living in their home. The victim was 7 years old at the time of the incidents.
“The defendant in this case is the worst kind of predator,” said Solicitor Adams. “His actions are horrific and thankfully he will have four decades to think about his crime.”
